Ms. Lyric Cox

Primary West Guide

Lyric leads our Primary West classroom of three to seven year olds. She completed her AMI Primary course from The Montessori Institute of San Diego in the summer of 2023. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University. After high school, Lyric joined ‘City Year New Hampshire’, an Americorps program, working as a teacher's assistant in an alternative middle school classroom. She traveled and lived in rural South Africa to create and implement a curriculum for a nonprofit, Thanda After School Programme, to increase graduation and decrease AIDS rates. Lyric has worked with neurodivergent children as a nanny and behavioral therapist for many families. Lyric is also a PADI dive master and research diver. Additional experiences include three years working on coral farming in Mexico. Professional development experiences include the Annual AMI Montessori conferences and a summer study tour in Rome to learn about Montessori’s history and legacy.
