Ms. Kim arrived at Little Flower Montessori School as a Primary Montessori Guide in 2005, from Toronto, Canada. She received her AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) training in Toronto at the Foundation for Montessori Education and worked in Toronto as a Primary Guide before coming to Florida. Before entering the Montessori community, Ms. Kim’s background included a BA from the University of Toronto – work in Hospitality Management as well as various administrative and marketing experiences. While she enjoyed these life experiences, she concluded that children were so much more fun to work with!
In 2013, her aim of accrediting Little Flower Montessori School with the Association Montessori Internationale became a reality. At the time, Little Flower was one of only a few Montessori schools in the State of Florida to achieve this objective. Founded by Dr. Montessori, this organization is the oldest recognized authority on Montessori education worldwide. She has had the opportunity to avail herself of a multitude of professional development experiences in Montessori pedagogy, leadership, administration, special needs and bal-a-vis-x. Ms. Kim holds a Level 2 Trauma Endorsed Director Credential. It is her goal to facilitate an authentic Montessori environment where the child’s inborn sense of wonder is preserved and that promotes a lifelong love of learning.
