Association Montessori Internationale (AMI)

What is the Association Montessori Internationale?

The Association Montessori Internationale  (AMI)  was established in 1929 by Dr. Maria Montessori herself to maintain and protect the integrity of her educational philosophy. AMI is the oldest recognized authority on Montessori education worldwide.   Little Flower Montessori School is so committed to preserving and nurturing the educational ideas envisioned by Dr. Maria Montessori that each classroom  is staffed with a lead teacher that is  AMI-trained.  Furthermore, both owners of the school and the Head of School are AMI-trained.    Staff members have been recruited from various parts of the United States so that we can ensure this. In addition, local staff members have been sponsored to attend various international training centers so that we can ensure the highest standard possible in Montessori education.

Little Flower Montessori School was one of the first schools in Broward County to be offered AMI membership,  in 2012.  Our staff members attend Annual AMI Professional Development courses, throughout the United States,  to ensure that they are always at their best in our classrooms.
